VOLUNTEERS

As a non-profit organization dedicated to helping our community, RideAbility depends exclusively on volunteers to help carry out the daily functions of our program. We are always looking for volunteers to help our program grow and ensure the success of our students. Whether you have experience with horses or not, we welcome a variety of dedicated and talented individuals.

Interested in joining the family?

Please take a few moments to fill out all the volunteer forms, and check out our Facebook page for future orientation times and dates.

“There is such a connection between the rider and horse – smiles are infectious. Not only does RideAbility support the therapeutic needs of the rider, but it warms the heart.”

VOLUNTEER GUIDELINES

If you enjoy the outdoors, working with horses, children and adults, are at least 14 years old, and can commit at least 3 hour a week – we’d love for you to join our team.

Training is provided to all volunteers on an ongoing basis. All new volunteers are also paired with experienced individuals until they are comfortable with the program. Volunteers are trained for specific tasks, and no previous experience with horses is necessary.

Volunteering for therapeutic riding lessons sessions can involve walking, jogging and being on your feet for up to two hours. For opportunities that are less physically demanding, volunteering in the office, or mucking stalls is a great way to help.

All volunteers are required to attend training workshops.
New volunteers receive a schedule after attending a New Volunteer Training.
Volunteers are scheduled based on interest, experience and availability.

COMMUNITY SERVICE HOURS ARE GIVEN TO ALL PARTICIPANTS.

RideAbilty reserves the right to make the final determination on the appropriateness of volunteers for our organization.
