THERE’S A UNIQUE BOND THAT HAPPENS BETWEEN RIDER AND HORSE.

RideAbility was formed in 2012 to help improve the lives of children and adults with special needs, along with veterans, through facilitated interaction with horses. Research shows that therapeutic riding can provide physical, mental and emotional benefits to individuals with a wide range of cognitive and physical challenges. As a non-profit organization, our mission is to improve the health, wellness and education for our community in a peaceful farm environment.

RideAbility is an Approved Special Olympics Equestrian Training Center. We have more than 30 Certified Special Olympics coaches at our center, training athletes to help them prepare for the SC/NC State Games. The 10-week program begins in May and July.

“Riding gives me a chance to get away from my disability for a while. It also offers me freedom and independence.”
